The Theme of the galactic mother started appearing in my work at first appearing out of seemingly unconscious dripping of paints over 10 years ago. Over the last decade, this oracle has had many iterations and evolutions.

I chose the name “Star Mother Arrakis” after pulling a Rumi card from my beloved deck of Sufi mysticism. She reminds us that even when we feel the most alone, she is with us, holding us in her beloved embrace eternally.

I chose this piece to help support the Women of Afghanistan through the SAWA group 30% of the price of this painting will go to them.
